Supporting Salve

The thirtieth anniversary Governor’s Ball was the most successful to date. Five hundred revelers turned out to Ochre Court in Newport, helping to raise a record-setting $330,000 for the Salve Regina University scholarship fund. Guests enjoyed cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, dancing to the Mac Chrupcala Orchestra and — the evening’s highlight — an ice cream sundae bar at midnight. In honor of the sweet tradition and in celebration of the ball’s birthday, partygoers left with a commemorative silver ice cream scoop. Photographs by Peter Goldberg
